How To Puree Vegetables
Creating pureed vegetables is a simple and tasty way to enjoy your favorite vegetables. Follow these tips for perfectly pureed recipes.
Step 1: Prepare Vegetables
- Wash vegetables and discard any stems, seeds, and inedible parts.
- Cut vegetables into 1-inch cubes or small pieces.
- Boil vegetables in a pot of lightly salted water for 2-5 minutes, depending on the vegetable.
Step 2: Puree in a Blender or Food Processor
Once boiled, drain the cooking liquid and transfer the vegetables to a blender or food processor. If desired, reserve some of the cooking liquid to use as a binder. Add the liquid slowly and in small amounts as needed.
Step 3: Blend Until Smooth
Blend the vegetables until a thick paste is formed. Start with the slowest speed on the blender and gradually move up in speed until the desired texture is achieved. For a smoother puree, blend for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4: Add Seasoning
Add salt, pepper, and fresh or dried herbs to taste. If the puree is too thick, add extra oil or cooking liquid as needed.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
Serve pureed vegetables as a side dish or as an addition to soup or pasta dishes. Enjoy!
