Sometimes when gardening, you can have amazing results. Vegetables can grow so quickly that you actually begin to hear them! Here are some vegetables that grow so fast you can hear them:
Carrots
Carrots are one of the quickest growing vegetables. They can start to grow within a couple of weeks and you will find them reaching their full size within 3 months.
Courgettes
Courgettes are a type of squash and are related to cucumbers. They can grow very quickly, reaching full size in just 6-7 weeks from planting. In some cases, you will be able to hear them growing in their pot as early as 3-4 weeks after planting.
Other Fast-Growing Vegetables

- Beetroot
- Spinach
- Mizuna
- Rocket
These are just some of the vegetables that can grow so quickly that you will hear them. Other vegetables, such as potatoes, onion, cabbage and cauliflower, can also grow quickly but they usually take a little longer.
When you are starting to grow your own vegetables, be sure to check how long it will take for them to reach full size and check in on them every now and then. You just might be surprised to hear the sound of your growing vegetables!
